When doing camshaftphaser work, push down on this timing chain locking wedge tool and wiggle to set it as deep as possible, then pull up a little (the chain will come up with the tool), and you then have extra wiggle room for removing phasers.
Allows to do easy cam or cam phaser changes without losing the chain tension and removing the timing cover.
Hard plastic on the end of the tool resists damage from the timing chain; Firm metal rod allows the wedge to get deep enough to do the job effortlessly.
